The Early History of the Lord’s Recovery in China

I. The beginning of the church life in Brother Nee’s hometown.
II. The spreading of the church life.
A. By 1949 about 700 hundred local churches raised up in China.
B. In 1949 About three hundred fifty to five hundred saints among us went to Taiwan from mainland China.
C. The Lord also moved in Southeast Asia through Brother Nee. In 1924 the first local church in Southeast Asia was raised up in Malaysia. From 1931 through 1933 the church life spread from China through the immigrating Chinese to places such as Singapore and other cities of Malaysia and Indonesia. Then in 1950 the proper church life went to the Philippines in Manila.
III. A brief sketch of brother Nee’s work.
A. Immediately after being saved in 1920, Brother Nee started to preach the gospel to his classmates.
B. Early publications:《The Present Testimony》 in1923, 《The Christian》 in1925.
C. Victory conferences:
1. In Feb. 1928,The first Victory Conference was on “God’s eternal purpose and the victory of Christ”.
2. In Oct.1931, The second Victory Conference was on “the covenant of God and the wisdom of God”.
3. In Jan.1934, The third Victory Conference was on “Christ as the centrality and universality of God.”
4. In Oct.1934, The fourth Victory Conference was on “God’s overcomers”.
D. In 1935 Brother Nee had a conference there that speaking concerning Christ as the overcoming life.
E. In 1937 Brother Nee began to see that the co-workers needed to travel from one city to another to establish local churches.
F. Aug.1939~Sep.1942, Brother Nee’s fellowship on the Body of Christ during that time was the most strategic work of his entire life.
G. 1940~1942, Brother Nee saw the Body and realized that spiritual warfare is not an individual matter but a Body matter.
H. Jun.1942~1948, The Turmoil caused by some brothers rebellions against Brother Nee.
I. The Resumption of Brother Nee’s Ministry.
J. In 1948 about eighty to one hundred saints went to Kulin mountain in Fukien to be with Brother Nee for a course of training which lasted about six months.
K. 1950~1951, In those two years, he did his best to publish as many books as possible because he anticipated that he would be arrested and put into prison.
