Introduction
“The New Testament Reading Companion” series are intended as an aid to the saints, especially new believers, in building up a daily living of reading the Bible and being nourished by the Lord’s Word.
The content of this book is taken from the text of the book of John of the New Testament Recovery Version, the Life-study of the book of John, and other relevant publications published by Living Stream Ministry. The reading schedule provided in this book has divided each chapter of the book of John into six portions. By following this schedule, the reader will read one portion a day, one chapter a week, and step by step finish the entire book of John of sixteen chapters in sixteen weeks. This book has been divided into two volumes due to its length for them to be carried easily.
The daily portion, besides the text of the book of John, includes an excerpt from the Life-study of the book of John and other relevant publications for the purpose of highlighting the crucial points in the scriptural reading and particularly helping the reader to receive the life supply from the Holy Word.
According to the principle of “giving them food at the proper time”, this book with its daily portions is designed to meet the needs of four kinds of people:
- Gospel friends.
- New believers.
- Dormant saints.
- Seeking ones.
This series’ editors have also produced a “Group Meeting Handbook” for the readers to consult concerning the content of their meetings as they gather weekly in groups.
Regarding how to receive the divine revelation from the Bible, please refer to the messages in the following pages.
May all the children of God, by enjoying the nourishing milk of God’s Word and being fed by it, grow unto the full salvation of God, as 1 Peter 2:2 said: “As newborn babes, long for the guileless milk of the word in order that by it you may grow unto salvation.”
